Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Healthcare Cleaner role based in Aylesbury. The Healthcare Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in domiciliary care settings, supported living environments, and other healthcare locations as required. Day-to-day tasks include cleaning resident and communal areas, disinfecting surfaces and equipment, safely handling and disposing of waste, and replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies. The role involves following infection prevention and control procedures, adhering to health and safety regulations, and accurately completing cleaning logs and documentation. The Healthcare Cleaner will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, respond to cleaning requests in a timely manner, and support a safe, comfortable environment for individuals receiving care.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in professional cleaning within healthcare or care environments, including safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, including sanitizing high-touch areas and handling clinical or domestic waste safely.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow cleaning schedules, policies, and regulatory guidance.
- Candidates should possess good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with individuals receiving care, families, and colleagues.
- Previous experience in healthcare, social care, or facilities cleaning is beneficial, along with awareness of UK health and safety standards.
- Ability to undertake physical tasks such as standing, lifting, and moving equipment, and to work shifts, weekends, or evenings as required.
- Relevant training or certificates in cleaning, infection control, or health and safety are an advantage; an enhanced background check will be required.
