We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students across various subjects and age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, including preparing materials and resources.
- Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance with their learning.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Help to supervise students during classroom activities, break times, and outings.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to assess student progress and contribute to the development of personalized learning strategies.
- Assist in the maintenance of accurate records and documentation related to student progress and behaviour.
- Contribute to the overall pastoral care and well-being of students, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops to enhance professional development and stay updated on best practices in education.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by school management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is essential.
- Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young people.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo relevant background checks including enhanced DBS and safeguarding training.
