Summary of role:
Caremark Cannock Chase and South Staffordshire are looking for professional and reliable Care Assistants to join our team based in Cannock.
Principal responsibilities:
- Help customers with washing & dressing
- Shopping & meal preparation
- Prompting with medication
- Support with daily routines
- Respite services
- Socialising and leisure activities
- Helping customers access the community
- Assist customers who need help getting up and going to bed, including dressing, washing, bathing and toilet use
- Assist customers with mobility, physical disabilities, incontinence and use of personal aids/equipment
- Provide care for temporarily sick or terminally ill customers
- Promote mental and physical activities through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies and recreation
- Make and change beds, light cleaning, emptying commodes and general tidying
- Launder and mend customer clothes
- Set tables and trays, prepare and serve light meals, clear and wash up
- Read and write reports; participate in customer reviews and training activities
- Adhere to all Caremark policies and procedures, reporting significant changes in health or circumstances to Field Care Supervisor or Care Manager
- Encourage independence of customers wherever possible
Qualifications & attributes:
- Secondary education
- At least 1 year providing care
- Valid UK driving licence; own vehicle required for full and part-time drivers
- Self-motivated, well-organised, reliable and flexible
- Caring and sensitive; supportive of others' needs
- Uses own initiative
- Good communication, recording and reporting skills
- Can work under pressure
- Committed to maintaining high standards of care
- Good communicator
