At Caremark Epsom and Ewell, Reigate & Banstead, we are seeking a highly motivated and caring Children Support Worker to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with children who have epilepsy and special needs, providing essential support during school hours, including feeding assistance and facilitating school trips. Your compassion, understanding, and commitment to the children’s development will be essential to their overall progress and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and assistance to children with epilepsy and special needs during school hours.
  • Administer feeds and medications as per prescribed guidelines, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
  • Support children in their daily activities, including personal care routines, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with the children, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care.
  • Assist with the supervision of school trips, ensuring a safe and inclusive experience for all children.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the children’s progress, behaviour, and medical requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with epilepsy and special needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of epilepsy and its impact on children’s daily lives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children and colleagues.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care and emotional support to children with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently.
  • Patience, flexibility, and resilience in managing challenging situations.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
  • A valid working with children check or the ability to obtain one before employment.
