Role Description

We have full and part-time, Care assistant roles based in the Hastings & Rother area East Sussex.. Care assistants will provide support with daily living support to clients in their homes. Responsibilities include helping with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders, as well as supporting clients with shopping, appointments, and community activities. The role also involves monitoring clients’ well-being, documenting care provided, and promptly reporting any changes in condition to supervisors. Care assistants will build trusting relationships with clients and their families, uphold Caremark’s care standards, and follow all safety and confidentiality guidelines.

Ideally full drivers license as many clients are located in rural areas, prepared to work some evenings and weekends. At this moment in time, we are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Direct care skills, including personal care, assisting mobility support, and safe transfer techniques.
  • Basic household support skills, such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and helping with daily routines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to observe, record, and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition accurately.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively in a client-centered environment.
  • Capacity to work independently, follow care plans, and adhere to health and safety procedures.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting people to live safely and comfortably at home.
  • Previous caregiving, home care, or healthcare experience is beneficial but not always required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant care certifications or training are an advantage.
  • Ability to meet any local regulatory requirements, including background checks and eligibility to work.
