Job Description:

Known internally as Part-time Careline Operator

  • Location: Office based inRingwood, Hampshire
  • Hours: 26.25hours per week,covering a rolling rota of 4 shifts on / 4 shifts off, including some weekends and Bank Holidays (this may include work over Christmas and Easter periods)
  • Shifts: 10:30pm - 6.30am, occasional flexibility required to cover absence
  • Pay rate: From £13.70 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance), depending on experience

About the role

Our Part-time Call Operators provide emergency assistance and reassurance to thousands of retired Homeowners living in independently owned retirement apartments right across the UK.

You will work as part of the team, providing telephone-based customer support with responsibilities including:

  • Taking incoming calls and responding to a variety of situations including medical emergencies, fire panel alarms, security entry calls or speaking to people keen to hear a friendly voice.
  • Logging each call in our CRM system ensuring information is accurately recorded.
  • Providing a friendly, responsive, and attentive approach on every call.

About you

As a Call Operator, you will be able to:

  • Display a warm and friendly telephone manner.
  • Be calm in a crisis situation and work well under pressure.
  • Embrace and learn new IT systems and technical knowledge with ease and be familiar with customer databases.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of written and spoken English.
  • As a customer service professional, you will understand the importance of excellent customer skills and a ‘customer first’ approach.
  • It is desirable to have a degree of experience in telephone-based or fast-paced customer service environments.
