About the Role

Are you a passionate and experienced chef who takes pride in creating great food? We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic chef to join our team and prepare nutritious, tasty meals for our residents. This is more than just cooking; you’ll help make mealtimes something residents can look forward to, while ensuring their dietary needs, preferences and wellbeing are always considered.

Your Key Duties

  • Preparing and cooking healthy, balanced and enjoyable meals
  • Catering for dietary requirements, allergies, medical needs and individual preferences
  • Planning meals and preparing food within agreed budgets
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and Health & Safety standards
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and safe
  • Maintaining standards in line with EHO requirements
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies and minimising food waste
  • Using effective portion control and meal planning
  • Working closely with care staff to make mealtimes a positive experience
  • Supporting and guiding junior kitchen staff where required

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years cooking or catering experience
  • A Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate desirable, but not essential if you're willing to obtain one
  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle essential
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food preparation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A friendly, patient and caring approach
  • A professional attitude and pride in their work
  • A genuine desire to make a difference to residents' daily lives
