Job Title: Maintenance Operative Location: Jarrow, South Shields Hourly Rate: £13.92 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About The Role As a Maintenance Operative at Careline Lifestyles, your main responsibilities will include: Ensuring the premises are safe and well‑maintained by conducting daily inspections for any potential Health and Safety hazards Keeping an electronic maintenance log and ensuring all issues are reported and addressed in a timely manner Verifying all tasks with the Manager, except in the case of emergencies Ensuring lights, particularly bulbs, are working properly throughout the premises Maintaining tidy gardens, yards, and fire exit areas, especially during poor weather conditions Checking and maintaining hot water and heating systems Regularly carrying out painting jobs, including ‘touching up’ areas as needed Inspecting drains and gutters weekly to ensure proper functioning Organising and testing fire equipment, hoists, lifts, boilers, air conditioners, and other equipment Carrying out weekly fire drills and documenting findings in the Fire Drill Log Book Keeping all records up to date and notifying the Administrator/Directors of any potential hazards for further action Being flexible and adaptable to new tasks and responsibilities as required by the company What You Need A proactive and responsible attitude towards maintenance and health
