About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Nurse in Charge and managing a team of Care Assistants to provide high‑quality care to our residents. You will be responsible for helping individuals with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their dignity is maintained.
Location: Evenwood, Bishop Auckland
Salary: £13.52 per hour
Job Type: Permanent / On‑site
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Care Assistants, ensuring high standards of care are met
- Assist with personal care, promoting independence and dignity
- Organise and lead activities for service users, including outings and games
- Attend MDT meetings and contribute to care planning and assessments
- Administer medication and maintain accurate records
- Help develop and review care plans, including risk assessments
- Assist with personal care, mobility and physical disabilities
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained
- Support meal preparation and assist residents during mealtimes
- Record incidents and report any changes in residents' conditions
Essential Criteria
- Level 3 Safe Handling of Medication Certificate (must provide evidence)
- Previous experience and relevant qualifications in a medical or care setting
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting others
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to demonstrate leadership in supporting care staff and ensuring high standards of care
