About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of our new home opening in Elswick. This role is vital in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care and a safe, comfortable environment for our residents. In the absence of the Home Manager, you will take full responsibility for the home, including managing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in all aspects of management and operations.
  • Take charge of the home in the manager's absence.
  • Provide hands-on nursing care and support for residents.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor staff to deliver outstanding care.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and participate in shift cover when necessary.
  • Liaise effectively with residents, families, professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee medication administration and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in developing care plans and participating in resident reviews.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
  • Be part of the on-call rota and respond to emergencies appropriately.

What We're Looking For

  • A qualified Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Proven leadership experience in a care home or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards and care planning.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage teams, delegate effectively, and handle difficult situations calmly.
  • A caring and empathetic approach to supporting residents and their families.
