About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated
Senior Support Worker to join our team.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting the Nurse in Charge and providing guidance to our Support Workers, helping to ensure that the people we support receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care.
Our residents have a range of complex needs, including acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, mental health needs, learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
Some individuals may also display behaviours that can be challenging , so we are looking for someone who is confident, patient and able to respond calmly and professionally when situations arise.
The role is varied and can include personal care, mobility support, medication, daily activities and supporting residents to maintain their independence and dignity.
You will work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible support to those in our care.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Support Workers, helping to maintain high standards of care.
- Provide person-centred support to residents with a range of complex needs.
- Support individuals who may present with behaviours that can be challenging, following their care plans and agreed support strategies.
- Assist with personal care and daily living activities where required, always promoting dignity, choice and independence.
- Safely administer medication and maintain accurate medication records.
- Help develop and review care plans, risk assessments and support plans.
- Support residents with mobility and physical disabilities.
- Organise and encourage participation in activities, outings and meaningful occupation.
- Attend MDT meetings and contribute to care planning and reviews.
- Work alongside nurses, healthcare professionals, families and other members of the support team.
- Record incidents and report any changes or concerns regarding residents' wellbeing.
- Support mealtimes and assist residents where required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety.
Essential Criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) - essential.
- Medication training and demonstrable competence in the safe handling and administration of medication - essential.
- Previous experience working within a health or social care setting.
- Experience providing personal care and supporting individuals with daily living needs.
- Experience of supporting individuals with complex needs and/or behaviours that can be challenging.
- A caring, patient and empathetic approach.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in different situations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and support other Support Workers.
- A commitment to promoting dignity, independence and person-centred care.
