Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Design, deploy, and manage SQL workloads on Microsoft Azure
  • Manage and support virtualized environments using Hyper-V
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions using Veeam
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and query optimization
  • Manage HA/DR solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Azure SQL MI)
  • Ensure security, compliance, and access controls
  • Automate DBA and infrastructure tasks using PowerShell and T-SQL
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams
  • Support on-prem to Azure migrations and hybrid cloud architectures

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA
  • Solid infrastructure background, including:
  • Windows Server administration
  • Hyper-V virtualization
  • Networking and storage concepts
  • Proven experience with Azure Cloud, including:
    • Azure SQL (IaaS & PaaS)
    • Azure Virtual Machines
    • Azure Storage, Backup, and Monitoring
  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Expertise in performance tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, T-SQL)
  • Nice to Have

    • Experience with Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
    • Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
    • SQL Server, Azure, or Veeam certifications
