Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
- Design, deploy, and manage SQL workloads on Microsoft Azure
- Manage and support virtualized environments using Hyper-V
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions using Veeam
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and query optimization
- Manage HA/DR solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Azure SQL MI)
- Ensure security, compliance, and access controls
- Automate DBA and infrastructure tasks using PowerShell and T-SQL
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams
- Support on-prem to Azure migrations and hybrid cloud architectures
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA
- Solid infrastructure background, including:
- Windows Server administration
- Hyper-V virtualization
- Networking and storage concepts
- Azure SQL (IaaS & PaaS)
- Azure Virtual Machines
- Azure Storage, Backup, and Monitoring
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
- SQL Server, Azure, or Veeam certifications
- Experience supporting hybrid environments
