The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced IT Service Design Consultant to support a critical service transformation programme within a complex enterprise environment. The role will focus on stabilising a high-incident IT service estate through immediate operational improvements, while designing and implementing a practical future-state service model. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring both strategic service design expertise and practical implementation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust IT service operating models
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable service frameworks
- Lead IT Service Management design activities across service transition and operational readiness
- Build service blueprints and process models aligned to business needs
- Assess current service gaps and identify pragmatic improvement opportunities
- Improve incident, problem and change management processes
- Define service level expectations and operational governance frameworks
- Support service transition into live operational environments
- Collaborate with infrastructure, operations and business stakeholders
- Drive continuous service improvement initiatives
Required Experience
- Proven experience as an IT Service Design Consultant, ITSM Consultant, or similar service transformation role
- Strong experience delivering end-to-end IT service design and implementation
- Deep understanding of ITIL 4 practices, including Service Design and Service Transition
- Experience stabilising high-incident operational environments
- Strong process mapping and service blueprinting capability
- Experience improving change governance and service communications
- Excellent stakeholder management across technical and operational teams
- Strong understanding of risk, resilience and operational service continuity
