Data Quality Tester

Location: London or Fareham, with up to 2 days per week in the office as required

Contract: Contract

Rate: Up to £300 per day

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Quality Tester to join a growing data engineering team. You will play a key role in ensuring data quality across ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines by building robust testing processes that identify defects before they reach the business.

Working closely with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders, you will help improve release quality, reduce testing cycles, and ensure confidence in the organisation's data platform.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience in Data Quality Testing.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines and Data Warehouses.
  • Experience validating BI reports and data transformations.
  • Strong understanding of data reconciliation and data validation techniques.
  • Experience creating automated regression tests.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern data platforms.
  • Experience with Power BI or other reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of data quality tools such as Great Expectations, Soda, or dbt tests.
  • Experience with Python for test automation.
  • Experience working within cloud-based data platforms.
