About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead a brand-new, high-end children’s residential home supporting young people with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Set in a beautiful part of Chester, this service has been thoughtfully designed to the highest standard, offering a truly luxurious, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. This is a rare opportunity to open and shape a new home from the ground up, supported by an experienced Responsible Individual and Director of Care with over 15 years’ experience in children’s residential care. You will be fully supported not only operationally, but also on your personal leadership and career journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Provide inspirational, child-centred leadership to the staff team
  • Create and embed a strong, positive culture focused on outcomes, care, and development
  • Ensure the home consistently meets and exceeds Ofsted standards
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people in line with legislation and best practice
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff through supervision, training, and performance management
  • Manage referrals, admissions, and placement stability
  • Build strong relationships with placing authorities, families, and external professionals
  • Take responsibility for the operational, financial, and quality performance of the home

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (Desirable Level 5 or working towards)
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within children’s residential care
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding frameworks
  • Experience working with children with LD and/or EBD
  • A values-driven leader with a genuine passion for making a difference
  • Confidence, resilience, and the ability to inspire others
