Role Purpose
The Financial Accountant plays a key role within the UK and Ireland Finance team, supporting both local statutory and group reporting requirements. This role ensures accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. As Signant Health continues to grow, the role offers scope for development and involvement in diverse finance projects across our UK and Ireland entities.
Key Accountabilities
- Complete monthly accounting close for UK, Ireland, and corporate entities, including journal postings, P&L reviews, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform analytical reviews on monthly and year-to-date movements to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Lead intercompany reconciliation processes and support transfer pricing reporting requirements.
- Support group reporting activities and collaborate with global finance teams.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including VAT return preparation and submission (UK and Ireland).
- Support of annual audits and preparation of year-end financial statements under IFRS.
- Timely filing of Companies House submissions and other statutory returns.
- Work with external advisors (e.g., PwC) on annual tax filings and compliance.
- Contribute to finance systems and process improvements across NetSuite and OneStream.
- Participate in ad hoc projects, such as tax restructuring, intercompany alignment, and reporting enhancements.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a financial accounting or similar role.
- Strong understanding of month-end and statutory reporting processes.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally with finance and non-finance teams.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and deadline-driven.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
