About the Role
Our client, a growing and personable technology services provider, is seeking a IT Systems Engineer to join their technical support team. This is a varied, mid-level position offering a mix of office-based remote support and on-site client visits, giving the successful candidate exposure to the full technology stack.
The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, technically well-rounded, and passionate about continuous learning. With a flat team structure, every engineer has the opportunity to resolve issues end-to-end, share knowledge, and be involved in project delivery.
Working Location
North Shields (with travel across the North East)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and onsite support across a diverse client base
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues
- Manage and support IT infrastructure including servers, switches, access points, telephony, CCTV, and AV
- Document fixes and create technical knowledge articles
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Assist with project delivery such as cabling, Wi-Fi, CCTV, and migration work
What Our Client is Looking For
- Minimum 1 years’ IT support experience in a similar role (MSP background desirable)
- Strong Windows desktop and server troubleshooting experience
- Advanced Microsoft 365 administration (including hybrid environments)
- Solid networking knowledge (IPv4, VLANs, NAT, Proxy, filtering)
- VDI exposure (Microsoft RDS) and PowerShell scripting skills
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first approach
Desirable
VoIP management, Hyper-V/server management, cloud migrations, technical documentation experience.
