Careers Plus is proud to have partnered with a financial services organization in the North East who are looking to hire a Data Protection Officer. We are ideally looking to chat with experienced professionals who have previous experience working in a similar position with strong knowledge of UK Data Privacy and Data Protection regulations.
This role will be responsible for ensuring the company\’s systems and procedures comply with all relevant data privacy and protection law, regulation, and policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, DPA 2018, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
- Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on data privacy best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or similar role within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, DPA 2018, and financial regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting DPIAs, audits, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
