The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established digital and API integration specialist based in Darlington, supporting national and international clients on complex, enterprise-level projects. They are looking to add a talented Back End Developer to their growing team. The Role
As a Back End Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable back-end systems, primarily using PHP and Laravel. You’ll work closely with other developers to deliver high-quality solutions, optimise performance, and support API-driven integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining back-end applications using Laravel
- Building reusable, scalable, and efficient code
- Optimising applications for performance and reliability
- Consuming and integrating with APIs
- Working collaboratively within a development team
- Supporting the interaction between front-end and back-end systems
- Contributing to system architecture and technical decisions
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience as a Back End Developer
- Proven experience with PHP, OOP, and Laravel
- Experience working with MySQL
- Familiarity with Git and version control
- Command line experience
- Experience consuming APIs
- Knowledge of CSS frameworks
- Experience with jQuery
- Awareness or experience with Vue, React, or Tailwind
- Understanding of system architecture
