Our client are designers and makers of sculptural lighting, furniture, and artworks. They are commissioned by celebrated interior decorators, collectors, and discerning private individuals worldwide and are currently recruiting for a Senior Design Estimator to join their growing team.
As an experienced Designer / Maker, you will be utilising your knowledge of how things are made to look at drawn designs, the materials used, and production time to suggest more efficient alternatives to reach the most cost-effective approach for the company and their clients without compromising quality of design or finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with sales to understand the scope of custom or bespoke projects and advising.
- Consult with technical experts, internally and externally, to gather costs and processes for manufacturing.
- Use internal ERP system to calculate estimates.
- Ensure all pricing meets with company margins post manufacturing and is sustainable for any repeat orders.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of costing, budgeting, and design within the manufacturing of interior products for the (ideally) high-end design sector.
- Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Commercially aware.
In return, our client can offer a salary of between £35k and £38k plus pension and benefits package, and the role will be office based.
