Our client is a leader in designing and delivering fully integrated home technology systems. Their experienced design team shares a real passion for how technology can elevate modern living, spanning smart home automation, lighting control, audio-visual systems, data networks, and security. With a strong pipeline of projects already secured for 2026, they are looking to welcome an experienced Lead AV Designer to the team.
As Lead AV Design Engineer, you'll take ownership of high-end residential (and occasional commercial) AV system design from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with architects, interior designers, contractors, and internal technical teams to ensure every system is beautifully designed, technically robust, and seamlessly integrated into the built environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Produce detailed AV system designs and create design packages aligned with RIBA stages
- Prepare rack elevations, cable schedules, mounting details and network topology diagrams
- Attend and contribute to design coordination meetings, providing expert technical guidance
- Assist with fee proposals, scopes of work, and design rationale when required
- Produce supporting collateral such as technical brochures, system summaries and visual presentation material
- Support the creation of as-built drawings and O&M manual documentation
Skills & Experience needed from the Lead AV Designer:
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Competent in MS Office and structured digital file management (network drives, Dropbox, OneDrive)
- Minimum of 3 years experience with a high-end AV integrator
- Confident client-facing and presentation skills
- Proven track record of delivering premium-level AV designs
- Working knowledge of Revit (and willingness to upskill) would be an advantage
