Our client is a major retailer across fashion, furniture and homeware, known for their quality, style and trend-led approach. They are currently seeking a Senior Assistant Tailoring Designer to join their Womenswear Team, bringing fresh ideas and creativity to their tailoring range. The role is on-site, 5 days per week although they may be open to working 1 day from home.

As a Senior Assistant Tailoring Designer, you'll play a key role in developing and supporting womenswear tailoring collections. You'll respond to briefs quickly and creatively, ensuring designs are both trend-relevant and commercially strong. Working closely with designers, buyers, merchandisers and technologists, you'll help deliver beautifully made garments that align with brand vision, price point and quality standards. You'll research and identify key trends in colour, silhouette and fabric, translating them into elevated designs that feel modern and customer-focused. The role will also involve creating accurate tech packs, briefing manufacturers, and supporting both main range development and project-based collections.

About You: You'll have a strong background in womenswear fashion design with a particular passion for tailoring. Pattern cutting experience is essential, along with the ability to create and manage detailed tech packs. Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator is a must, and you'll be comfortable working with suppliers and factories. Above all, you'll be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, creative retail environment. Experience with major retailers or suppliers would be a real advantage.
