Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality lighting and furnishing products, supplying the interior design and specification market. Renowned for beautifully designed and expertly made products, they are now looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join their Design & Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career design engineer to develop their technical and product development skills within a creative and collaborative environment.
The Role:
- Working alongside experienced designers and engineers, you will support the development of new and existing products, producing accurate CAD data, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Creating BOMs, technical specifications and product documentation
- Supporting prototyping, sample inspection, testing and 3D printing
- Liaising with Production, Quality and Procurement teams to resolve technical queries
- Contributing to design reviews and product development projects
- Maintaining accurate CAD, PDM and technical documentation
About You:
- As a Graduate or Junior Design Engineer with up to two years' experience, you will have:
- A degree or HND in Product Design, Design Engineering or a related discipline
- Good knowledge of 3D CAD and technical drawing, ideally SolidWorks
- An understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture
- Good practical problem-solving skills and a commercially aware approach
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to develop your career
