Experienced Recruiter for the interior, furniture, product and lighting design sectors.
We have an opportunity for you to join one of the UK’s most recognised fashion and home retailers.
Their Furniture Technology Team ensures every product in the Home Range – from cushions and curtains to dining tables and sofas – meets exceptional standards for design, performance, and quality. This team are now looking for an Assistant Furniture Technologist to support innovation and excellence across their growing living room furniture collection.
The Role
Here you’ll use your technical expertise to help develop new ranges that meet quality, safety and value standards. From concept to launch, you’ll ensure designs are commercially sound, compliant and built to last.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating new products to meet legal, safety and performance standards
- Providing technical guidance throughout development and launch
- Identifying new materials, trends and improvement opportunities
- Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure documentation and approvals
- Monitoring range performance and supporting seasonal reviews
About You
- You’ll have a solid understanding of furniture materials and construction, with a passion for creating products that combine durability, comfort, and style.
- Knowledge of woods, metals, plastics and textile materials
- An understanding of testing, ergonomics and manufacturing processes
- An awareness of sustainability and innovative materials
- Experience in furniture manufacturing, product development or retail technology
