FWI is building a team to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network, which provides the IT environment for 100% of DLIFLC teaching and instruction for all students, staff, faculty, and guests. This position will serve as the Government's primary cybersecurity authority and Information System Security Manager (ISSM), bridging vulnerability management, incident response, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance to protect the Academic Network. The Cybersecurity Team Lead will manage and coordinate the Information Assurance team, ensure compliance with DoD and Army cybersecurity requirements, maintain the network's Authority to Operate (ATO), and ensure the military language training community operates within a secure, compliant IT environment that protects sensitive educational data and systems.
Work Schedule and Location:
- On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:45pm at Presidio of Monterey in Monterey, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and coordinate the Information Assurance team
- Ensure network meets all DoD and Army cybersecurity requirements (AR 25-2)
- Maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and Authority to Operate (ATO)
- Provide recommendations on NIST SP800 series and NIST 800-53 controls
- Manage Cybersecurity Network and Boundary Defense operations
- Oversee Intrusion Detection and Incident Response on the Academic Network
- Research and implement best practices for network access control and threat prevention
- Maintain in-depth awareness of the enterprise Cybersecurity Architecture
- May be required to travel (CONUS/OCONUS)
Qualifications Required:
- BA/BS from accredited college/university with minimum 5 years experience OR AA/AS with minimum 7 years experience OR 9+ years of progressive experience serving as a cybersecurity specialist
- Requires one of the following certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP Vendor Specific CE/OS Certification
- Experience leading a team
- Cybersecurity management experience
- Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Experience with NIST 800-53 controls
- Secret level security clearance
