The Business Analyst is responsible for driving the successful execution of business solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams, refining processes, and ensuring effective technology adoption. This role is essential in maximizing the impact of new processes and technologies, and involves understanding business needs, managing requirements, optimizing workflows, and ensuring strategic objectives are met. The ideal candidate will be a versatile and curious individual who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and ensure solutions align with strategic objectives.
- Elicit, manage and trace requirements throughout the solution lifecycle, producing clear documentation such as process flows, requirements documents, user stories, and test cases.
- Support project success by facilitating workshops, conducting gap analyses and ensuring timely tracking of deliverables.
- Collaborate with software vendors, integration partners, and business teams to configure systems based on defined requirements and process designs.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and contribute to their deployment using project management best practices.
- Assist in creating and reviewing testing documentation, including strategies, plans, scripts, defect logs and closure reports.
- Analyze data to inform decision-making and develop KPIs to measure the success of implemented solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- In partnership with other teams, evaluate change impact on various departments, ensuring mitigation plans are in place for potential challenges.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of experience in business analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Results-driven, adaptable, and capable of leading initiatives independently.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibits a can-do attitude and a disposition to face challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- IIBA CBAP certification is an asset.
- Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience leading or supporting software implementation projects is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Planner, SharePoint).
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira) is an asset.
- Experience in Finance business functions or systems is an asset.
- Real estate industry experience is an asset.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
- Competitive Base Salary between $50/hr. - $75/hr.
- Hybrid Work Model: 3 to 4 days a week in the office.
