ABOUT THE ROLE

As Regulatory Risk & Compliance Manager - UK, you will play a vital role in ensuring Tide complies with the evolving regulatory requirements set by the FCA and other UK regulators, with particular ownership of Tide's e-money and payments compliance.

You will advise the business on what it can and cannot do under Tide's e-money permission, identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory risk, and ensure that Tide's compliance frameworks are embedded across the business.

You will sit alongside two other UK Compliance colleagues, reporting directly to the Global Director of Compliance, and will provide regulatory compliance support more broadly across the business as needed.

Working closely with teams across the organization, including Product, Member Operations, Payments, Marketing, Legal and Finance, you will provide expert advice on regulatory developments, lead compliance initiatives, and integrate regulatory requirements into our day-to-day operations.

As the subject matter expert on e-money and payments regulation, you'll help to steer decisions, impact strategies and support the rest of the team and business.

As Regulatory Risk & Compliance Manager you will

  • Advise on the scope of Tide's e-money permission, and lead compliance with the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 and Payment Services Regulations 2017, including related regulatory submissions and notifications.
  • Lead engagement on FCA correspondence, submissions, inspections, and thematic reviews.
  • Own horizon scanning and regulatory mapping for UK payments-related developments, assessing impact and advising on necessary action.
  • Execute the Compliance Monitoring Plan, taking ownership of monitoring activities, addressing findings, and engaging stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide regulatory compliance support to other risk areas of Tide, such as Financial Crime, Operational, Information Security, Conduct.
  • Maintain and update compliance policies in line with UK and FCA regulations, tracking required refresh cycles.
  • Support the Global Director of Compliance in regulatory engagements, strategic planning, and governance.
  • Lead and actively participate in the Regulatory Risk & Compliance working group, ensuring key issues are identified, addressed, and escalated.
  • Coordinate and deliver compliance and risk-related training across the business, particularly on payments and e-money obligations.
  • Collect and prepare MI for internal governance reporting and external regulatory submissions.
  • Track regulatory deadlines, file submissions, maintain a log of regulatory interactions, and prepare for meetings and inspections with the FCA and other authorities.
  • Provide second-line oversight and challenge of first-line teams on regulatory compliance-related controls.
  • Support internal and external audits, participate in compliance reviews, and oversee effective remediation of findings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Around seven years' experience in Compliance, Regulatory Risk, or Risk Management within financial services.
  • Strong technical grounding in the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 and Payment Services Regulations 2017 - permitted activities, safeguarding, conduct requirements, and associated regulatory reporting.
  • Direct experience interacting with the FCA, including regulatory submissions, notifications, and responses to information requests.
  • Experience providing compliance support across other risk areas, such as Financial Crime, Operational, Information Security, Conduct.
  • Experience in oversight functions, monitoring key risk indicators (KRIs), and providing Compliance Advisory on new initiatives, products, and services.
  • Background in Banking, Fin Tech, Payments/E-Money firms, or Regulatory Consultancy.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations, research requirements, and advise internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Proactive problem solver with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in resolving compliance challenges.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, managing multiple projects, deadlines, and regulatory engagements effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with strong drafting, analytical, and risk assessment skills.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
