ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll own the commercial finance function for Tide's India card payments business—the unit economics, the regulatory navigation, and the financial strategy that shapes how we grow in one of the world's fastest-moving payments markets. This is a strategic finance role embedded with the India Payments product and commercial teams. You'll build deep relationships across the organisation, tell the financial story of India payments with clarity and conviction, and challenge assumptions when the economics don't support the plan.
As Head of Commercial Finance – India Payments (Cards), you will:
- Own Commercial Finance Strategy: Build and maintain the unit economics model for UPI, cards, and blended merchant products, managing reforecasts as market and regulatory conditions shift.
- Partner with Product & Commercial Teams: Act as a direct, data-driven partner to business leaders; framing revenue impact, pricing models, and P&L forecasts for new features and GTM strategies.
- Navigate Regulatory Economics: Translate RBI circulars and NPCI guidelines into direct financial impacts, mapping scenarios and recommending clear strategic positions.
- Pioneer AI-Native Finance Ops: Establish the foundational cohort definitions, documentation, and data structures necessary to transition manual modeling into highly leveraged AI workflows.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Tide is seeking a commercially driven financial strategist with deep domain expertise in the Indian fintech landscape. The ideal candidate will have:
- A proven track record of 10–15 years in commercial finance, specifically within fintech or payments.

- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to make complex financial and regulatory narratives legible to global executive teams and board members.
- First-principles financial modeling skills (fluency in Google Sheets or SQL preferred) along with hands‑on experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to optimise finance workflows.
- A professional qualification like a CFA, or a degree/MBA from a top‑tier institution (IIT, IIM, ISB, or equivalent).
