Hills Quarry Products is looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team in Swindon. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary and a fantastic benefits package.

What is the role all about?

As our Health & Safety Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Health & Safety Manager to plan, organise and deliver essential compliance activities. You’ll help ensure that our operations meet all relevant legislation and that high health & safety standards are consistently maintained. Beyond compliance, you’ll be an advocate for a positive safety culture—actively promoting best practice and driving awareness across the division and wider business.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the tracking and reporting of compliance performance against company metrics and KPIs, producing accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support across all Health & Safety activities, including maintaining company systems and acting as the division’s system superuser, offering guidance and support to managers when needed.
  • Oversee the management of incidents and near‑misses, ensuring they are logged, monitored, and resolved promptly, with appropriate escalation where required.
  • Maintain COSHH assessments using up-to-date safety data and ensure relevant information is effectively communicated to sites.
  • Manage the in‑house learning management system, keeping training records up to date and proactively coordinating and booking employees onto required training to support compliance and development.

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to support across all levels of the business.
  • A willingness to develop and pursue professional development in the health, safety and environmental field.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to bring a logical and methodical approach.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Knowledge of The Quarries Regulations 1999 and the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • Previous experience in delivering training programmes/toolbox talks.
  • Previous experience with Eco‑Online / Health & Safety management portals.
  • Previous experience with Learning Management Systems / Online training systems.
