About the role:
You will control the operation of the mechanical and biological treatment (MBT) process from within the control room. Your key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining appropriate records and logs of operational data.
- Ensuring that deliveries and dispatches from the site are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Performing preventive maintenance on fixed and mobile plant.
- Supporting colleagues in maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
- Operating the weighbridge, managing waste receipt and dispatch, and ensuring compliance with planning and permit conditions.
Shift patterns:
- Shift One: Monday‑Friday 06:00‑14:30 plus 06:00‑12:00 Saturday.
- Shift Two: Monday‑Friday 13:30‑22:00.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a process plant environment and operating a Programmable Logic Controller.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of current safety and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to take full responsibility for the efficient running of the facility in the supervisor’s absence, including staff direction and supervision.
- Experience in people‑management, with safety knowledge and telehandler/forklift qualifications considered desirable.
