About the role (What youâll be doing)
Weâre looking for a Financial Controller to lead our UK finance reporting and operations and support our international growth. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and performance insights for the UK business, while partnering closely with Group Finance, Operations, and Growth teams. Itâs a highly visible, handsâon position suited to someone who thrives in a fastâpaced, scaleâup environment.
- Financial Management & Reporting
Own the UK monthâend and yearâend close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial results.
Prepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and consolidated reporting for group review.
Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and statutory filing requirements including management of annual statutory audit processes. - Operational Finance
Oversee Accounts Payable, ensuring supplier invoices are processed, approved, and paid in line with company policy.
Oversee payroll for UK employees, including coordination with external payroll providers and reconciliation of related accounts.
Administer employee expense cards and reimbursements, ensuring accurate coding, policy compliance, and timely settlement.
Maintain accurate records of employee benefits, pensions, and HMRC obligations.
Support implementation and automation of finance workflows (e.g. invoice approvals, payment runs, card integrations). - Business Partnering & Planning
Collaborate with UK leadership on budgets, forecasts, and performance tracking.
Provide commercial insights and recommendations to drive profitability and efficiency.
Support pricing, investment, and growth initiatives with financial modelling and analysis. - Controls & Compliance
Maintain strong internal controls and support the development of scalable finance processes.
Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory submissions.
Manage relationships with local accountants, auditors, and advisors. - Systems & Process Improvement
Enhance finance systems and reporting tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with global teams to align financial data structures, policies, and automation initiatives.
About you (Who you are)
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with 5-8 yearsâ experience in accounting or finance, ideally combining practice and commercial experience.
Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax, and compliance requirements.
Experience with inventory management.
Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems, and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with global stakeholders.
