Wentworth Shire Council is excited to announce the recruitment of a newly created leadership position, the Manager Planning and Property Services. Located in the far southwest of New South Wales, Wentworth Shire covers a vast 26,000 square kilometres, offering a unique blend of rural charm and riverfront living. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the efficient delivery of planning and property services, overseeing both strategic and statutory functions.

Role Context and Objectives
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of all planning and property services, overseeing both strategic and statutory functions. A key priority is to streamline Development Application (DA) processing and provide authoritative, outcome-focused advice to drive high-quality planning outcomes that improve the social and economic amenity of the community.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in land use planning with the ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation; familiarity with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (desirable)
- Tertiary qualification in urban planning, architecture, or a related discipline
- At least five years of industry experience
- Proven track record in conflict resolution and negotiation
