Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Waste Project Officer(s) to contribute to the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of our Waste Management and Resource Recovery programs. This is a key role in supporting our sustainability goals, reducing waste to landfill, and advancing Liverpool’s circular economy initiatives.
This Role Involves
- Developing and implementing waste strategies and policies
- Coordinating and managing waste-related projects, tenders and contracts
- Providing expert advice on waste, recycling and resource recovery issues
- Engaging with residents, community groups, and internal teams to promote waste avoidance, reuse and recycling
- Supporting the assessment of Development Applications with waste-related requirements
- Actively integrating sustainability principles into operations and community programs
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in waste management, environmental science or a related field
- Experience in waste, resource recovery, sustainability or environmental management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and community consultation skills
- Knowledge of current waste management legislation, ecological sustainable development and resource recovery systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
