As the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for managing all financial, administrative, and governance aspects in strict accordance with the Association Incorporations Act 2009 and Regulations, Department of Fair Trading, Local Government Act 1993, Code of Meeting Practice, and Code of Conduct requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Fulfilling the role of 'Public Officer' to ensure adherence to the association's constitution and timely handling of elections and documents.
- Coordinating Executive, Ordinary, Special, and Annual General Meetings, including accommodation and catering arrangements.
- Preparing comprehensive business papers, accurate meeting minutes, and arranging relevant speakers.
- Implementing policies and procedures, conducting strategic workshops with delegates.
- Establishing effective communication channels with member councils' staff and delegates.
- Actively promoting the association to attract new members and ensure member satisfaction and retention.
- Identifying opportunities for income growth and operational enhancement.
- Liaising with relevant parties to maintain an updated association website.
- Collaborating with IT service providers for efficient operations.
- Providing timely updates to delegates through newsletters, phone calls, and emails.
- Working closely with Finance subcontractors for compliant payments.
- Managing press releases in consultation with the Chair for effective communication.
- Keeping the Chair, Deputy Chairs, and Executive Committee informed for smooth functioning.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in local government, or the public sector, with a proven record in delivering outcomes. You will possess strong political acumen, highly developed strategic, communication and interpersonal skills, a successful track record in collaborating with Government and an understanding of current and emerging mining and energy related issues.
