Senior Urban Design Advisor – Liverpool City Council
Location: Liverpool, New South Wales
Employment type: Full-time – Permanent
Salary: $102,853.98 – $112,701.67 pa + 12% super + vehicle allowance
Responsibilities
- Review, commentary and guidance on urban design and public domain plans for development applications and planning proposals.
- Provide landscape, environmental and urban design advice to internal officers and external customers.
- Represent Council as an Urban Design expert in all Land & Environment Court (LEC) matters.
- Develop a framework of urban design and public domain controls and guidelines, and detailed concept designs for streets and urban spaces during urban renewal.
- Design oversight and input on reports and recommendations to the Liverpool Local Traffic Committee, ensuring balanced approach to pedestrian amenity, active transport, traffic management and public domain design quality.
- Specialist landscape and urban design input into Council’s capital works and sustainability programmes and green infrastructure projects.
- Deliver design ideas through graphic presentation and drawing/sketch.
- Prepare presentations, briefings, correspondence and write reports and issue papers.
- Convening Council’s Design Excellence Panel.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Design, or an associated discipline.
- Experience working on design projects.
- High level of written, verbal and graphic communication skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Self‑motivated, practical, outcome‑focused; able to work autonomously and manage a complex workload.
- Exceptional stakeholder‑management skills.
