JOB DETAILS:

  • 4 x Permanent, Full Time - 36 Hours, 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday / Tues to Friday)
  • Salary: $73,110 - $79,872 + Super
  • Location: Liverpool

Liverpool City Council is seeking multiple Waste Services Operatives to join our Waste Services team. You will work as part of a high-performing operational team, contributing to the cleanliness, safety and presentation of the Liverpool Local Government Area. These roles all sit under the same Position Description; however, successful applicants may be allocated to different operational areas, depots and collection services, depending on operational requirements. Start locations and shifts may vary and can include early morning starts. The roster for each role is consistent.

The Waste Services team is responsible for delivering essential frontline services including:

  • Household kerbside waste and recycling collections
  • Litter and public place waste removal
  • Safe operation and maintenance of waste vehicles and equipment
  • Supporting traffic management and on-road safety requirements

About You

You enjoy practical, hands-on work and take pride in delivering services that the community relies on every day. You are safety-focused, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment. Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate their competency in the following essential areas:

  • HR Drivers License
  • General Construction WHS (White Card)
  • Implement Traffic control and Implement Traffic control plans tickets (or willing to obtain at own cost within 3 months of start date)
  • Experience driving trucks in residential areas
  • Experience in waste removal or similar operational environments
  • Ability to perform manual handling and physical work
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices
  • Strong teamwork skills and a professional approach to public-facing work

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant. All successful candidates will be required to obtain a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process and may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical check.
