An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and strategic professional to support Council’s corporate objectives through leadership in external funding and industry awards. The Strategic Grants and Funds Officer plays a pivotal role in identifying, securing and maximising grant and awards opportunities that deliver tangible outcomes for the community.
The Economic Development and Strategic Partnerships Unit of Liverpool City Council is responsible for marketing Liverpool as a prime business destination, working with existing businesses in Liverpool to assist firms grow, innovate and improve their competitiveness and developing and implementing an Economic Development Strategy that stimulates commercial activity. As Council’s central point of contact for all external funding matters, the position also provides strategic oversight of externally funded projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget, while monitoring performance trends and reporting insights to the Executive Management Team to continuously improve Council’s funding and recognition outcomes.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business or a related discipline
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience in researching and preparing complex proposals and submissions
- Demonstrated experience in strategic project management with sound knowledge and experience in developing, planning, implementing and evaluating projects and ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating outcomes across diverse service delivery teams
- Highly developed written communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of grant and sponsorship management processes
- Advanced negotiation, influencing, marketing and networking skills
- Analytical and report writing skills with the ability to prioritise work
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
