About The Role
Liverpool City Council is seeking a highly motivated and talented candidate to fill the Senior Urban Designer (Growth Areas) position. The position is situated within Council’s City Design and Public Domain team, which comprises specialists in Urban Design, Architecture and Landscape Architecture, collectively working to achieve design excellence outcomes across the Liverpool LGA. The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified, skilled and experienced Architect, Landscape Architect or Urban Designer, with a key interest in shaping design outcomes that are people‑focused and aim to achieve the best possible solution.
Role
- Preparing strategic design documents (e.g. policies, plans, strategies, studies, guidelines and manuals);
- Completing referrals for Development Applications;
- Providing specialist advice and input into planning and infrastructure projects that are being completed by other teams within Council, the NSW Government and/or other organisations;
- Preparing concept plans, project briefs and other project‑management documents, to guide the execution of infrastructure projects by other teams in Council;
- Preparing grant funding applications for infrastructure projects that will be executed by other teams in Council.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Design, or an associated discipline;
- Experience working on design projects;
- A high level of written, verbal and graphic communication skills, including proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software packages (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator);
- Self‑motivated, practical, outcome‑focused, with the ability to work autonomously, manage a complex and dynamic workload and achieve results;
- Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
