Reporting to the Strategic Events Lead, the Major Events Producer will lead, coordinate and project manage Council’s large-scale events and festivals, engaging with local businesses and the general community.

Job Details

  • Permanent, full time.
  • 35 hours, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational and creative components for Council’s high profile and large-scale events.
  • Contribute to the creative and strategic development of existing and new events.
  • Evaluate and report on events, facilitating systems for retrieving analytics and feedback to improve the event-goer experience.
  • Work in collaboration and provide guidance to junior producers towards execution of joint projects.
  • Coordinate engagement of contractors, stallholders/vendors, suppliers, performers and artists, supervising these parties and event staff onsite (permanent, casual, volunteers).

About You

  • A minimum of 4 years proven experience in leading event coordination across various event types including community or greenfield festivals and corporate functions.
  • Hold relevant qualifications in events, communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project management experience coordinating all event components (stallholder acquisition, stage programming, registration).
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact and collaborate with diverse business units, customers, clients and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver a project from conception to completion.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, using strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hold a Class‑C Driver’s Licence.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and evenings when required.
  • Experience working within local government sector (knowledge of protocols, procurement procedures and compliance) is preferable but not required.
