Permanent Full Time - 35 hours, 5 days per week across a 7-day roster. Salary $99,424.26 to $108,943.56. Location: Liverpool, New South Wales.

Liverpool Council’s Library and Museum Services operates six libraries, including the internationally recognised Yellamundie Library and Gallery. The service welcomed more than 650,000 in-person visitors per year, and nearly 1,000,000 loans.

Role Purpose

The Team Leader Library Collections and Information Services ensures consistent delivery and continuous improvement of library collections across our libraries. The position is responsible for maintaining and building library collections that meet the recreational, informational and literacy needs of the community and plays a significant part in building and maintaining partnerships with suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with library collections, cataloguing and budget experience is preferred for the role, as is experience in managing staff. This role will undertake circulation desk shifts across the service as required, including evening and weekend shifts.

About You

The successful applicant will have:

  • Completion of degree or postgraduate level Library and Information Studies, conferring eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a public library and a customer service environment
  • Experience in developing and leading a team, including the support, supervision and training of staff
  • Contributing and implementing strategic planning, development of business plans and service agreements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of library collections, including the evaluation and assessment of usage of the collections
  • Proven ability to evaluate and implement new collections that meet community needs
  • Problem solving and project management skills
  • Strategic planning and budget control
  • Class C Drivers Licence
