Overview

Liverpool, New South Wales | Full-time

Organisational context: Liverpool City Council operates six Early Education and Care Centres and two Preschools; services rated as “Exceeding National Quality Standards.” This role leads the team and supports an environment focused on enquiry-based learning where children thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of high-quality inquiry-based educational curriculums for children attending council services.
  • Mentor and support educators in delivering educational curriculums, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and policies within the Early Childhood Education and Care environment.
  • Create curriculums, rituals, rhythms and practices that enable children to learn through enquiry and investigation, including the use of quality resources, loose parts and materials to provoke learning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, motivating and collaborative workplace culture; lead the team and provide an environment that supports enquiry-based learning.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree-qualified Early Childhood Teacher with NESA accreditation; ACECQA child protection training recognised by ACECQA.
  • Open to applicants actively working towards an early childhood degree with a view to completion before December 2026.
  • First aid certificate (essential).
  • Detailed knowledge of child development and contemporary theories/approaches to early childhood education and care.
  • Ability to mentor educators and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
