Our client is an HMC co‑educational boarding and day school that nurtures academic excellence, sporting success and creative talent. The 400‑acre campus on the edge of the South Downs is an area of outstanding beauty. They are looking for a warm, dependable, and proactive Boarding House Assistant to join their friendly boarding team.
The role involves supporting the wellbeing, routine and pastoral care of boarding pupils, helping to maintain a safe, tidy and welcoming House environment.
Key responsibilities:- Providing a consistent adult presence in the Boarding House during set times
- Supporting students' daily routines, welfare, and academic focus
- Promoting positive behaviour and a calm, respectful House culture
- Listening to pupils and offering guidance in a kind, approachable manner
- Reporting concerns and logging incidents accurately
- Helping keep rooms and shared areas tidy and liaising with cleaning/operations staff when required
- Assisting with medical logs and general administrative support for the House
- A positive, flexible and caring approach to working with young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Someone dependable, patient and able to exercise good judgement
- Willingness to work as part of a supportive team and contribute to school life
