As a member of the Royal Canin Health Affairs team, this role will play a critical role in establishing Royal Canin as a scientific thought leader in health through nutrition for our external stakeholders, partners and customers. The jobholder is responsible for effectively implementing and continuously improving the scientific communication and engagement activities in UK & Ireland for Royal Canin, acting as an internal scientific advisor, sharing knowledge about clinical nutrition both in written form and orally to varying audiences both internally and externally, and building relationships with external stakeholders through consulting and active collaboration.

What are we looking for?

  • Education & Professional Qualifications: DVM degree, or an equivalent Graduate University Degree in Animal Biology, Food Science Engineering, Food Safety or Human Nutrition or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge / Experience: Very good knowledge of canine and feline nutrition, particularly in a veterinary clinical context. Previous experience in scientific stakeholders' management. Previous experience in scientific communication, veterinary professional training, or equivalent, considered as an asset. Very good presentation and communication skills, particularly to a scientific audience. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Deliver internally and externally Scientific education: Implement the development of all scientific communication materials and trainings for the Associates.
  • Provide the necessary technical/product support by adapting and producing content and materials on the respective platforms, provide trainings for external stakeholders (consumers, veterinarians, veterinary technicians/nurses, students, breeders).
  • Provide support to key areas of the business in particular customer-facing teams (field sales, Consumer Care), Demand teams, and other functions ad hoc.
  • Build and leverage Royal Canin Academy plan to drive product recommendations.
  • Enhance Scientific Influence and Product experience externally: Contribute to the ad hoc implementation, review, and communications of product field trials so that scientific impact is maximized.
  • Ensure high level of academic excellence by delivering scientific and nutrition presentations at vet schools, vet universities, and conferences in various formats in clinical nutrition towards all our relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the strategy to manage Key Opinion Leaders and Key influencer relationships, processes, resources to drive our category.
  • Where agreed, represent scientific interests of Royal Canin to industry groups and trade associations where appropriate in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs, Public Affairs and in coordination with the Corporate Affairs Director.
  • Secure Scientific review, validation and Approval of Contents: Validate the market assets in line with the process and check their level of substantiation, tone of voice and scientific relevance.
  • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders: Implement the Scientific Communications Activation Programs in alignment with Demand teams for Executional Excellence.
  • Participate actively to the European regional Health Affairs community, sharing best practices and learning new capabilities.
  • Support our Consumer Care associates in answering complex questions and enquiries in order to drive pet owners’ experience.
  • Review scientific communication material as needed for marketing and digital communication.
