Our client, a highly regarded property consultancy with a significant UK presence, is seeking an Estates Surveyor to oversee a diverse commercial estate comprising retail units, industrial assets, office premises, and a range of specialist-use sites. This opportunity is ideal for a commercially-minded property professional who enjoys both strategic oversight and operational delivery across a varied portfolio.

The Estates Surveyor will take a hands-on role in ensuring best-in-class property management, maintaining strong occupier relationships, and driving long-term value for the estate through proactive asset stewardship and coordination of third-party services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a central point of contact for landlords and tenants across a national commercial property portfolio.
  • Ensure lease obligations are fulfilled and oversee all property compliance matters.
  • Manage relationships with neighbouring property stakeholders and support resolution of shared site concerns.
  • Oversee and administer subletting arrangements and tenant changes across the estate.
  • Carry out scheduled property inspections and advise on necessary works, compliance, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage external specialist advisors across compliance, H&S, and technical areas.
  • Maintain accurate lease and property data across internal systems, ensuring clear and consistent reporting.
  • Lead quarterly tenant communications and attend meetings with occupiers as required.
  • Process and track invoices, support budgeting, and monitor contract expenditure.
  • Manage contractor and supplier performance, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and in line with client expectations.
  • Provide support on lease advisory and transactional activity in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Collect and report on health & safety and environmental performance data across the portfolio.
  • Assist in incident investigations and insurance claims processes where necessary.
  • Line manage administrative support and contribute to team development.
What We’re Looking For
  • Background in managing multi-sector commercial property, particularly across retail, industrial, or office environments.
  • Sound understanding of commercial leases, property legislation, and facilities coordination.
  • Organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail and an ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident communicator with experience in tenant and client liaison.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and property management systems or databases.
  • A collaborative approach with a willingness to contribute across wider team initiatives.
  • Commercially aware and able to spot and act on asset management opportunities.
  • Experience mentoring junior colleagues is an advantage.
