Stroud District Council have an in-house Electrical Service that provides annual servicing, maintenance and reactive repairs to Stroud District Council tenants. We are seeking an electrician, who will be responsible for routine repairs and maintenance, condition reports, replacements and installation of electrical services equipment, as well as having strong experience in carrying out Electrical related activities in tenanted properties. A proportion of the role will also involve problem solving, fault finding, and diagnosis, ensuring problems are followed through to completion.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance and repair of building services installations, including lighting, power, emergency lighting systems, energy conservation, heating controls, hot water and renewable systems.
- Undertake all aspects of Planned Preventative maintenance including Electrical Inspections and Testing, Emergency Lighting, Electrical Heating and Electrical Services in a wide variety of buildings and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines, statutory acts and regulations.
You will need to hold Electrical Qualifications including or equivalent to City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 and 3 Electrical Installations, 18th Edition (2382) and inspection and testing (2391). The successful candidate is key in helping shape the delivery of the service, they will have experience of working within the sector, up to date knowledge of appropriate regulations and legislation.
The role is a full-time position working 37 hours per week. This is not a 9-5 role and requires an individual who is flexible, and committed to delivering outcomes and will undoubtedly have to go beyond the Job Description. A full UK driving licence is essential, and you’ll need to demonstrate a real passion to provide excellent customer service.
