An innovative and fast-growing life sciences publisher is seeking a talented and driven Commissioning Editor to join its editorial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the development of high-impact content across a portfolio of respected digital and print publications in the biomedical space.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience within academic, STM, or trade publishing, with a strong understanding of content strategy, commissioning practices, and author engagement. You’ll be responsible for identifying trending topics, building relationships with key opinion leaders, and shaping high-quality content for a global scientific audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commission content from researchers, clinicians, and industry experts for digital features, interviews, and opinion pieces
  • Maintain and develop relationships with editorial board members, authors, and peer reviewers
  • Monitor scientific and industry trends to identify emerging topics and commissioning opportunities
  • Collaborate with the editorial, marketing, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of content
  • Support content planning and development for special issues, supplements, or multimedia formats
  • Represent the publication at relevant scientific conferences and virtual events when appropriate
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a publishing or editorial role, ideally within STM or life sciences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with academic and industry stakeholders
  • Passion for science communication and content development
  • A scientific background (degree in life sciences or related field) is highly desirable
