Job Title: Commissioning EditorLocation: Hybrid (London-based office) or Remote (UK-based)About the Role:An innovative and fast-growing life sciences publisher is seeking a talented and driven Commissioning Editor to join its editorial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the development of high-impact content across a portfolio of respected digital and print publications in the biomedical space.The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience within academic, STM, or trade publishing, with a strong understanding of content strategy, commissioning practices, and author engagement. You’ll be responsible for identifying trending topics, building relationships with key opinion leaders, and shaping high-quality content for a global scientific audience.Key Responsibilities:Commission content from researchers, clinicians, and industry experts for digital features, interviews, and opinion piecesMaintain and develop relationships with editorial board members, authors, and peer reviewersMonitor scientific and industry trends to identify emerging topics and commissioning opportunitiesCollaborate with the editorial, marketing, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of contentSupport content planning and development for special issues, supplements, or multimedia formatsRepresent the publication at relevant scientific conferences and virtual events when appropriateRequirements:Minimum 2 years’ experience in a publishing or editorial role, ideally within STM or life sciencesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and project management abilitiesProven ability to build and manage relationships with academic and industry stakeholdersPassion for science communication and content developmentA scientific background (degree in life sciences or related field) is highly desirableWhat’s on Offer:A collaborative, flexible, and intellectually stimulating work environmentCareer progression opportunities in a rapidly expanding publishing businessA chance to contribute to content that supports global scientific innovation and collaborationIf you\’re passionate about life sciences and eager to shape thought-leading editorial content, we’d love to hear from you.
