Career Tree is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Consultant to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving the growth and success of our programmes, including the employer engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel in building strong relationships with employers, securing job opportunities for our learners, and contributing to the achievement of positive outcomes as required by our organisational goals.
As a Business Development Consultant, you will play a key role in identifying and engaging with potential employer partners, generating live vacancies, preparing candidates for interviews, and ensuring the successful placement of candidates. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a meaningful impact in the education and workforce development sector while contributing to Career Tree’s ongoing success whilst having a strong salary and an additional bonus/commission for placements made.
Key Responsibilities
Employer engagement
- Identify, engage, establish, and form relationships with employers to secure job vacancies, guaranteed interviews, and placement opportunities for Bootcamp participants.
- Act as the primary liaison between Career Tree and employer partners, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain a database of potential employers, monitoring engagement and partnership progression.
Candidate placement and positive outcomes
- Collaborate with internal CT teams and head of Bootcamps to align candidates with suitable job opportunities based on employer needs and candidate qualifications.
- Ensure timely follow-up and support for candidates throughout the recruitment and placement process.
- Track and monitor candidate outcomes to meet or exceed GLA targets, including sustained employment beyond 4 weeks.
- Provide regular updates and reporting on placement success rates and employer feedback.
Targets and performance delivery
- Meet daily and weekly KPIs, including calls made, new employer agreements signed, meetings booked, and job offers secured.
- Consistently achieve or exceed placement targets to support the delivery of x amount set by programme manager for positive outcomes annually across Career Tree’s programmes.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, ensuring that all interactions with employers and candidates align with Career Tree’s values and goals.
Partnership development
- Drive strategic employer partnerships by understanding market demands and tailoring solutions to employer requirements.
- Collaborate with regional managers to identify growth opportunities in their respective areas and focus on in-trend industries.
- Build long-term relationships with employers to ensure repeat business and referrals.
Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of all employer interactions, vacancies, and candidate progress within the CRM system and Asana.
- Submit detailed weekly and monthly performance reports to the programme manager.
- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with GLA requirements and Career Tree’s internal policies.
Scope of work
The BDC will focus on employer engagement as a primary function, ensuring the following outcomes:
- Securing interviews.
- Preparing candidates for their interviews with screenings and pep talks.
- Securing job offers and placements to meet GLA Bootcamp targets.
- Building and expanding Career Tree’s employer network.
- Strengthening the organisation’s reputation as a reliable partner for workforce development and recruitment.
This role is pivotal in driving Career Tree’s success and achieving the ambitious goals set forth by the GLA. Employer engagement will remain the cornerstone of all activities, ensuring a seamless alignment between programme objectives and market demands.
