If so, we'd love to hear from you. We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Wetherby to recruit a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant.

This is a full-time role, initially offered through Career Teachers, with a clear pathway to a permanent position after one term for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC) and associated learning differences. You will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students
  • Help create a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students' social, emotional, and communication development
  • Assist with personalised learning plans and classroom activities
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and independence
