We are seeking a motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in South London, supporting pupils aged 5-19 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school provides a nurturing, supportive environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 4:00pm

Location: South London

Start Date: ASAP

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
  • Individuals with proven experience supporting children with SEN or SEMH needs
  • People confident in behaviour management and delivering tailored support strategies

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and during wider school activities
  • Assist teachers in delivering personalised lessons and interventions
  • Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive development in every learner
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support holistic progress

Requirements

  • Previous SEN experience (within a school or similar setting)
  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us)
  • Two employment references covering the last 24 months
